YO!
The YO! Mural (7 × 3 meters) was painted with brushes and rollers for Martinlaakso High School during one week while the students were on their winter holidays in February 2024.
The brief was to make a text based mural as the piece is situated on the back brick wall of a language class. As the high school is very multilingual I decided to go for a universal English greeting which also happens to be a Finnish abbreviation that translates as ‘high school graduate’ (‘ylioppilas’). After all, isn’t that why the kids are studying there in the first place?
